Willow Creek Association 2011-23-97 - Joy

With the approaching of Thanksgiving and my increasing recovery from recent surgery, I am overwhelmed with joy. Webster defines joy as "the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires." As Christians, our desire is eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Christ is our Hope and Joy. Have a joyful Thanksgiving. David

1 Samuel 2:2  "The Lord has filled my heart with joy; I feel very strong in the Lord. I can laugh at my enemies; I am glad because you have helped me!

Psalm 16:11 You will teach me how to live a holy life. Being with you will fill me with joy; at your right hand I will find pleasure forever.

Psalm 35:27 May my friends sing and shout for joy. May they always say, "Praise the greatness of the Lord, who loves to see his servants do well."

Psalm 43:4 Then I will go to the altar of God, to God who is my joy and happiness. I will praise you with a harp, God, my God.

Isaiah 24:14 The people shout for joy. From the west they praise the greatness of the Lord.

Zephaniah 3:14 A Happy Song

Sing, Jerusalem.
Israel, shout for joy!
Jerusalem, be happy
and rejoice with all your heart.

1 Thessalonians 2:19 You are our hope, our joy, and the crown we will take pride in when our Lord Jesus Christ comes.

1 Peter 1:8 You have not seen Christ, but still you love him. You cannot see him now, but you believe in him. So you are filled with a joy that cannot be explained, a joy full of glory.

1 Peter 4:13 But be happy that you are sharing in Christ's sufferings so that you will be happy and full of joy when Christ comes again in glory.
