2004-04-30 - The Miracles He Left Behind
If newspapers were invented during the time Jesus Christ walked the earth, He'd probably been an instant celebrity. Reporters would all want a glimpse of the Son of Man, especially performing a miracle. Here are some reporters takes on profiling the miracles of Jesus.

Two Miracles in One: Jesus Has Done It Again With His Mighty Miracle Power (For further reading, check out John 6:16-21 below)
The magnificent 12 (Jesus disciples) had a shorter than expected trip thanks to their loving leader, Jesus. The men were heading to Capernaum by boat, when the wind picked up and the water got rough. While in the middle of the Sea of Galilee (after rowing 3.5 miles), they saw Jesus walking on the water! John, a passenger on the boat, verified that the disciples were terrified of the severe weather conditions. But as soon as Jesus told them to not be afraid (John 6:20) they brought Jesus into the boat. If seeing a person walk on water wasn't enough, the rough weather conditions subsided, as soon as Jesus joined the other men in the boat and brought it to shore!
When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing, and the waters grew rough. When they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were terrified. But he said to them, It is I; don't be afraid. Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading. (John 6:16-21 NIV)
God, I often think how neat it would have been to witness Your miracles. I believe miracles arent just reserved for a specific time in history, but set aside for people who love and trust You. As Your child, I expect a miracle in my life. Please let my eyes be open to see Your miraculous power in my life today. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
