[CF Devotionals] 2006-11-24 - Passages About Thanksgiving

On occasion - we here at webservants' ministries like to share God's word with no comment, simply allowing it to speak for itself. The Bible is full of reminders that we are to be thankful year-round but it certainly is helpful to be reminded WHOM we have to thank for everyone and everything that is good. I hope you all have been having a blessed Thanksgiving. For those of you having a difficult one - you are in my prayers. The Basic Beliefs devotional series will resume after the holiday. Thank you again for all the affirmations and comments on the series thus far!

(Psa 30:11-12 NRSV) You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, 12 so that my soul may praise you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

(Eph 5:18-20 NRSV) Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, singing and making melody to the Lord in your hearts, 20 giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(1 Th 5:18 NRSV) give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you
