Love and Marriage: Bible Style

Luke 8:1-3

Joanna knew, by personal experience, that Jesus was a healer, He healed her out of bondage. She was fully committed to Jesus. Joanna was one who traveled with Jesus and His disciples. She and other women did what they could to help Jesus and His ministry flourish.

Being a believer in Jesus probably wasn't a popular decision with her family, as her husband Chuza worked for King Herod. Herod wasn't a keen follower of Jesus and what He stood for. Joanna was faced with a dilemma, whom to support? I am sure Chuza was a good provider, and Joanna wanted to encourage him, but she could not forget how Jesus cared for her, and His saving message. She wanted to let other people know how much Jesus cares for them. Could she support both men without being a hypocrite?

Lord, Open my eyes to what is right in front of me. Reveal areas where I need more of You and less of me. If there are things or people in my life that are not edifying or pleasing, show me how to turn my life around. I cannot do it by myself. I will need You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
