2011-04-03 - What Would Solomon Say?
1 Chronicles 28:20-21, 29:1-6
David also said to Solomon his son, Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished. (1 Chronicles 28:20)
What makes us doubt that God will meet our needs? Is it His track record, or the present impossible difficulty we are currently facing? Doubts may be what is keeping us from experiencing all God's blessings. My father David offered me some unsolicited fatherly advice in regard to the Lord's provisions. Dad had seen first-hand that there is no room to fail, when one obeys God.
As a new king, I had a large project in front of me. Dad warned me not to quit or doubt myself, or that God is in our corner. Instead, he urged me to be strong and courageous, for these qualities serve people well.
Lord, There are many things that happen that I don't understand. Especially those things I think You would or should do differently. I know, I know, Your ways are not mine, and You alone see the full picture. Please help me not to be discouraged and lose faith when things do not turn out the way I want them to. Help me not be timid to share the life lessons You showed me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
