2011-09-19 - What Would a Paralyzed Man Say?
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven." (Mark 2:5)
As a paralyzed man, every day I have to depend on someone else for the slightest thing. Not anymore. I've made up my mind; I am going to be well. No more excuses. I will not accept or believe this is all that life has for me. Especially since Jesus is visiting the city and has the power to heal me. I am glad my friends have agreed to take me to see Jesus. Once I can walk, my life is going to be different, remarkably different!
Words escaped me, upon meeting Jesus face to face. He told me my sins were forgiven. Unfortunately, my healing did not come without controversy. Some religious leaders in attendance thought Jesus' actions were blasphemous, claiming only God can forgive sins. Jesus wondered why it bothered the men so. He proved His words by telling me to pick up my stretcher and go home. I jumped up and pushed my way through the crowd. People were so amazed; they had never seen anything like that.
I have pictured myself walking, a millions of times, in my mind. Today, the dream finally became a reality.
Lord, I believe You are able to do amazing things in my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
