2013-04-2013 - What Would Jacob Say?
"I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." (Genesis 28:15)
The sun had set, and it was time to say goodnight to the day. I used a stone as a pillow and fell asleep. It wasn't the most comfortable sleep I have had, but oh, what a dream. I remember it distinctly. I saw a stairway or a type of ladder that reached from Earth to Heaven. On each rung, there were angels going up and down. Above the ladder, stood the Lord and He talked with me.
He told me He was my God, and my descendants would be well spread out; every person would be blessed through my family and me. Can God's words be true?
God said He would be with me wherever I went, and He wouldn't leave me until I accomplished what He promised. What a fabulous dream.
God said some amazing things. I can't wait to see them come to pass. I vowed right there and then, if God watches over me on this trip, and provides for my needs, including safety, then God will be my God, and I will give Him back a tenth of what He has given to me. It seems only fair, since it is His to begin with.
Lord, I stake my claim on the promises You gave to Jacob, You will declare for me. You will be with me wherever I go, until I accomplish what You have ordained me to do. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
