2013-12-31 - What Would Joshua
Say?
Joshua
10:6-14
Do not be afraid of them, the Lord said to
Joshua, for I have given you victory over them. Not a single one of
them will be able to stand up to you.
(Joshua 10:8 NIV)
The people of Gideon were in trouble and needed assistance. They were being
attacked and defeat was eminent. God knew the magnitude of the situation
and told me not to be afraid and that we would win. I believed what God said
even though it sounded impossible.
My army and I traveled all night and surprised the enemy with an attack.
The Lord brought a hailstorm just at the right time and more died. More men
died due to the violent weather than the fierce sword.
It may seem like a bizarre or brave request, but I asked God to stop the
moon and keep the sun still until Israel defeated its enemies. God graciously
made the sun stand still. It did not set in the sky and the moon did not
move until we were victorious. Never had this happened, it was the first
and only time such a natural phenomenon occurred. Life was frozen in time.
What a powerful God! He defended and protected His people.
Lord, Everything in the entire world is Yours. How I marvel
at Your power and care. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
What things do you marvel at that God can do and humans cant?
