[CF Devotionals] 2014-03-31 - What Would King Agur Say?

Proverbs 30

Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. (Proverbs 30:5 NKJ)

God isn’t a statue, an inanimate object made of gold, silver, or stone. He will be our defense, if we only seek His protection. God has mighty powers, and I only ask my God to make me content in terms of my finances. I would rather be somewhere in the middle of being rich or poor, so I will not fall into a life of gluttony or crime, in order to get all my needs met. I want to depend on God - and not depend on myself or riches.

Some things I have learned in life I would like to share: do not curse your parents, that's despicable. I cannot stand prosperous rebels, cheaters who marry, and bitter women who marry late in life.

I am a mere man, not full of God’s wisdom, and yet I still wonder about a lot of things. My mind is racing with thoughts right now. Thoughts and questions that I don’t have the answers to, but that doesn’t stop me from wondering:

How a man can love a woman?

How a ship finds its way home upon rocky seas?

How an eagle glides in the sky?

How a snake can crawl on a rock?

Speaking of Godly creatures, it can be wise to study them. Take the tiny ant, who can carry food heavier than himself. These insects live in complex and organized colonies. Amazing! Cliff badgers are also small and delicate, but they know how to protect themselves by living in rocks. Locusts have no leader, and yet they live in harmony. Even the slithering lizard can be found in palaces.

I think a mighty lion, a strutting rooster, a macho he-goat, and a king leading his army are four majestic beings on Earth. The Lord is miraculous. Lets thank Him for all the living things He has made, including us!
