2014-08-09 - Spreading the Good News
"For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard." Acts 4:20After Pentecost, the Disciples began healing the sick and preaching the Gospel. As a result of their actions, they drew the attention of the Jewish religious leaders. The religious council, the Sanhedrin, called in Peter and John, to try to silence them. The Disciples were commanded to stop speaking and teaching about Jesus. Peter and John then replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you, rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard." (Acts 4:19-20)
The Disciples continued to spread the Gospel. Soon, the Good News of Jesus was heard around the world. Today, we can continue the work of the Disciples. We can share the Good News with our families, friends and neighbors.
