Gen 19:15-29, Luke 17:32-33

Remember Lot's wife! (Luke 17:32)

I told my disciples to remember Lot's wife. I wanted the men to freely release their wants to Me. Lot's wife wasn't able to unchain herself from the familiar. She didn't want to leave behind the comforts of home. She wanted to hang onto the past one last time.

Lot's wife was told if she looked back at her homeland, she would be destroyed. She did not take the instruction seriously, turned around, and became a pillar of salt.

Lot's wife was not thinking of her two daughters or her husband, when she looked back. She was curious, and not ready to let go of the past, in order to face the future. It isn't fun being remembered for the mistake of your life, but Lot's wife is. She did not think a quick glance would do any harm. The woman was wrong.

Lord, We have a reason to celebrate. We can reach our full potential and destiny. Lot's wife wasn't able to personally learn and correct her mistakes. Thankfully, we can. May I not forget how important obedience and trust can be. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
