[Calvary Chapel] 2014-09-18 - The Hairs on Your Head

- - - - - - -

Luke 12:7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

I woke up today with many things on my "ToDo" list like so many of you.

Today seemed a little different. I was aware of God's hand all day long. When something happened that at first seemed to be a setback there was a sense that I needed to be patient. When there was a success there was an awareness of all the steps that had to be ordered to get to that moment that had been guided. In a moment where I felt that I was about to get lost driving in an unfamiliar area after dark when the correct path appeared.

God has asked us to trust Him. We have trusted Him with eternity by accepting the salvation He offers. We pray for the salvation, the healing, the guidance and more for ourselves, our friends and family - and even people we don't know. We easily trust the Lord with the big things that we have little or no control over. At the same time we will hold on very tightly to the "little things" in life. Why was I so concerned about getting off course?

Fifty-eight times in the NASB the phrase "do not fear" appears. Many of these are God speaking to someone asking them to trust Him in a difficult situation.

Isaiah 55:2 "Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance."

This is the heart of God the Father toward mankind. This chapter is the outline of salvation in the Old Testament hundreds of years before Jesus would walk the dusty roads of Galilee. We can spend our lives trying to find the things that will last, when only God can provide for forever.

Hear the call to trust Him today.

Lord, thank You for the times Your guiding hand was evident today. Amen.

Grace & Peace,
Mike
