[CF Devotionals] 2015-01-12 - What Would an Anxious Person Say?

- - - - - - -

Isaiah 48:17-18

I am grateful for my life. I know there are others who have more difficult circumstances than me, and yet my world feels like it could come crashing down at any moment. A lot of the issues are out of my control, but still I try to plan and figure out the best course of action. It just makes my stomach flip and flop.

I seek God's guidance and ask Him for wisdom and calmness. He can erase my anxious thoughts. “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” (Isaiah 48:17) God knows what I am facing, and what I am afraid to face.

The Bible goes on to say we find peace, when we listen to the Lord. Our well-being can be like the consistent waves in the sea. (v18) In this moment of quietness, I close my eyes from the distractions and things that must get done, and tun the Scriptures into a personal prayer.

Lord, Teach me what is best for me. Direct my path, so I know the way to go. I want to experience peace and well-being.

I have done all I should do. I need to leave the rest to the Lord, and silence the anxious thoughts, so I may hear His voice.
