2015-01-29 - Sing a New Song
Rev 5:9 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
The scene is the New Jerusalem. The Lord Jesus has been found worthy to open the scroll bound with seven seals. The multitude around the throne breaks into song of praise. His shed blood that purchased His followers from every corner of the world and His death to pay for our sin has made Him worthy.
Here's a thought. We will most likely be in that crowd of people singing.
Today was difficult in that I was very tired all day long. It was a struggle to keep my thoughts from wandering. Toward the end of the day it was a losing battle. My heart was secure that Jesus was in control. The sun will rise again tomorrow to another day - a new day full of potential. Potential could be translated "blessings" as well.
At the end of the day I have been reminded to pray for different people, including some things on my heart as well. I keyed "sing" into a search on my favorite online Bible web site. More than a dozen pages of verses were returned with lots of encouragement. One of the last verses in the list handed me such encouragement it had to be shared.
Most of you very patience people who read our devotions will never meet the authors face-to-face in this mortal life. Some of us may exchange emails or chat sessions. But there will come a day when we will meet and break bread spending time together praising the Lord we love.
Think about that through the day - Selah!
Grace & Peace,
All verses are from the New American Standard Bible (NASB) unless otherwise noted.
