Malachi 3:10 "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house."
The concept of tithing is found several times in the Old Testament. Probably the most familiar is Malachi 3:10, in which God commands the people to present a full tithe. A tithe is considered a tenth. God wants us to present an offering of a tenth of what we earn or own.
When you think about it, all that we own really belongs to God, and is on loan to us while we are on His Earth. We were born without possessions and, when we die, we take nothing with us. While on Earth, we are stewards of God's resources. With that in mind, we should consider how we use our time, talents, money and possessions. God is entrusting them to us, to put to the best use possible. Are we using what God has given us, in the best way? Are we good stewards?
