2015-04-27 - What Would Joshua Say?
Two of God’s gifts to His children are wisdom and protection. We earn these gifts by following and obeying the Lord. They are essential for successful living.
Without daily doses of Godly protection, I would fail in my own humanness. I am grateful for the benefit of God’s omnipotence, and seek His knowledge, as He has our best interest at heart.
Moses’ words encouraged me. Moses reminded me that I have the tools to combat fear. “Be strong and courageous. “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV) The Lord could not have been any clearer, that we are not to be afraid of what may happen.
I have to be strong and courageous, in whatever I face, for God is always there, although not visibly. I constantly remind myself that God is the opposite of fear. Since I am created in His image, I do not have to be best buddies with fear anymore. I can give myself the gift of being faithful instead of fearful. God guides and protects me, in all my ways.
Lord, I need some advice. I know You will not turn me away, as I search for You. You know my name, and things I don’t know. You are more powerful than the human race. Please be my gauge in life. Help quench my fears. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
