2015-06-06 - Keep Praying
Jesus frequently instructed His Disciples on the subject of prayer. In Luke 18:1-8, Jesus told them a parable to illustrate how "they should always pray and not give up." In this parable, a widow repeatedly presents her plea for justice before a judge who continually refuses her request. Over time, the judge becomes weary of this widow's frequent pleas for justice against her adversary. Eventually, the judge grants her request - because of her persistence.
Jesus goes on to say, "And will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off?" (Luke 18:7, NIV) Jesus told the Disciples that praying isn't a one-time thing. Prayer is continual and persistent. God, unlike this judge, loves us and cares about us. He is not wearied by our prayers. Keep praying.
