2016-03-21 - God's Strength
Years ago my daughter and I put on quite a performance at the food store. I was frazzled as I tried to coax her into a shopping cart, but did my best not to let my frustration show. What was my secret? Not a high energy breakfast, a special lotion, or a vitamin. My secret is realizing I am not supposed to have it all under control.
I can breathe a little easier knowing God is in charge and it isn’t up to me to tackle life with a little one alone.
What is your current assignment? Do you love it or hate it? Perhaps the question isn’t do I like or dislike the role but do I feel equipped to handle it. The only prerequisite is God’s strength.
We will be in good company if we seek God's strength and power. Familiar Old Testament men bragged about the Almighty's strength. Moses, David, Jeremiah, Isaiah, and Habakkuk all relied on the Lord. (See Exodus 15:2, Psalm 18:1, Jeremiah 16:19, Isaiah 16:19, and Habakkuk 3:19.)
Lord, Psalm105:4 directs us to look for Your strong abilities. I need Your strength today. Give me strength to face this challenging day. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
