2016-04-18 - What Would I Say?
I am notorious for misplacing my glasses. Sometimes I forget to bring my cellphone, when I am on a trip. I do not believe I'm absent minded, just unorganized.
While wearing my prescription eyeglasses and having access to a telephone are vital to my existence, so are talking to God and reading the Bible. And yet I have no problem putting these off, in order to do a load of laundry or make lunches for my family, believing I can spend time with God later. While household chores are important, these duties shouldn't replace being with God.
King Solomon encouraged us to make time for the Lord. If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don’t ever trust yourself. In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success. (Proverbs 3:5-6 TLB)
May we remember that "The Lord your God is in your midst, A Warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with joy; He will be quiet in His love [making no mention of your past sins],He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy." (Zephaniah 3:17 AMP)
Lord, Please forgive me when I haven't put You first. Help me come up with a schedule that gives me time with You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
