2016-11-19 - Persistent Prayer
In Luke 18:1-8 we find Jesus' parable of the persistent widow. This woman repeatedly appeared before a judge, for justice against an unnamed adversary. Time after time, the judge turned the widow away. Yet this determined woman would come back for before the judge and ask for justice. Eventually, the judge tired of her persistence, and granted her request. She had worn him out. Jesus went on to say, "And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?" (Luke 18:6)
God, the ultimate judge, wants us to turn to Him with our needs. He is the source of justice. God wants us to be persistent with our requests. Are you a persistent in prayer?
