Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
The nation of Israel was in exile in Babylon. The people were far away from their homes and livelihoods. They must have been afraid and confused. What were they to do? God instructed the prophet Jeremiah to send a letter to these exiles from Israel. First, God told the Israelites to settle down in Babylon. They were to build houses, plant gardens, and to go about their daily living in "peace and prosperity." Next, God instructed them to pray. God wanted to hear from them. Finally, God told them to trust in Him. God had plans for them. The exiles were not to give up hope. God would provide for them. He would bring them out of exile and back to their homes.
Whatever situation in which you find yourself today, no matter how bad things may be, God has a message for you. He has "plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11) Will you trust in Him?
