2018-01-10 - Records
I was updating my bullet point records of my days in general this morning. I recently determined it might be best to focus the bullet points on positive-natured daily activities or how I was feeling over all those days. I do that in conjunction with an online record I keep of migraine days. Not only does it show me how my not so great days are affected activity-wise, but it also reminds me of the wonderful typical and also fun things I am able to do on days that are not affected by the episodes. It was also pointed out to me, of late, that while I often have affected days, I very often accomplish quite a bit in spite of it, and that - in and of itself - is something for which to be grateful. I know it has to be due to the grace of God, and it’s Him who deserves the glory.
God has given us records, so we can know how to be most content in our earthly bodies, how to show ourselves approved, how to follow civil law as well as his statutes, and how to prepare ourselves for his kingdom to come. And whatever he is doing to get us through the process will include grace, as we follow his lead. His glory is worth every ounce of energy spent, pain felt and love experienced. “… it wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.” (Cece Winans, Alabaster Box 1999)
“But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw it bare record and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.” (John 19:34-36)
“Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;” (Philippians 1:7-9)
“This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.” (1 John 5:6-8)
“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1John 5:10-12)
“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” (Revelation 1:1-3)
