2018-07-19 - Because He Lives
"It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes" (Psalms 119:71 NKJV)
Because He lives I can face tomorrow.
Some days are harder to get up for than others. If you have never faced trials that made the mornings and the days themselves harder to get through, you have been blessed to this point. As strange as it may seem those trials may be times of teaching and growth that might otherwise not happen.
Look at Paul and the Apostles who lived through being locked in a prison cell not nearly as comfortable as today, shipwrecks, stoning, and yet none of them turned back from the call they followed. They called it all joy to suffer the same trials as their Master. The story goes that Peter was crucified in the Rome's Colosseum where he argued with his captors. He refused to be crucified like his Savior. He felt unworthy of such an honor. Instead he asked to be crucified upside down.
Some might think Peter crazy. But Peter knew the Lord. He had seen Jesus risen from the dead, and watched his Lord ascend toward Heaven. He knew that death was a doorway to a place we can only begin to understand even after reading the later chapters of the Revelation.
I have lived some difficult days. I have watched friends as they slipped little by little toward leaving this mortal life. I never have been there when they passed through the veil. Not yet anyway. But they had hope! They knew their Savior would meet them as they crossed over to eternity.
Where is your hope? Some hope to be good enough. Jesus claimed to be the way, the truth and the life. And that no man would come to the Father (God the Father) unless they came through him (Jesus). Do you want to know a little more. There's a link named Peace With God. There are people who can answer the phone and talk with you and answer your questions. Write to us if we can help clear up anything you're not sure about written here. Talk to friends who are Christians. They would love to share what they know.
Selah (think about it).
