James 1:2-4 (NIV) Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

There is a man who has fallen out of favor nowadays, due to some people being offended by his tough stance against evil and simply because God made him a Caucasian male. But he has always been a hero of mine and continues to be a hero of people who lived through those dark days because of his perseverance and because of the very reason that he took on evil and defeated it, thus securing the freedoms people there still enjoy today for the most part (London is becoming a bit problematical.). During World War II, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill was faced with an important decision. Should he authorize peace negotiations with his nation's opponents, or should he rally his country to continue fighting for its freedom? Churchill decided to keep up the noble fight for England's freedom. He said, "Never, never, never give up." The people of England agreed and kept up the fight. They never gave up. Their country survived.

What difficult situations are you facing? Are you dealing with illness, financial challenges, family troubles, job problems, or discouragement. How are we to handle these tough times? In the Book of James, we are informed that we will face trials of many kinds. We are encouraged to persevere through these tough times. We are never to give up. The end result will be spiritual maturity and completeness.
