2019-04-09 - Making the Most of Each Day
Ecclesiastes 3:12 (NIV)--I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.
A recent news story revealed that a well-known television personality is suffering from a serious form of cancer. This cancer victim said that he would fight his disease and keep on working. Several of our friends are afflicted with various illnesses and diseases. They are dealing with their conditions and making the most of each day. They haven't given up. They live each day as it comes.
We find other examples in the Bible. Paul had an affliction which bothered him. Some scholars believe that he had cataracts in his eyes, and others think he suffered from epilepsy. Moses was not a good public speaker. He may have had a speech impediment such as lisping or stuttering. Yet, Paul and Moses continued in their service to God. They took each day, as it came.
What illness or affliction is bothering you? It may be physical or it could be emotional. Are you living each day, as it comes? Are you looking to see how you can serve God, despite your problem? Are we making the most of each day?
