2019-06-14 - Not Perfect
My wife and I enjoy watching Major League Baseball on television. Recently the top pitcher (and a player from Jan’s hometown) for our favorite team (San Francisco Giants) was facing our team’s archrival (Dodgers). The game was very close, and only one run was earned in the game. Unfortunately, our team wasn’t the one who scored that run.
The star pitcher for our team made one mistake. He threw a pitch that was right down the middle of the plate. The opposing batter knocked the ball out of the ballpark. The pitcher wasn’t perfect. He made a costly mistake.
Just like that pitcher, we make make mistakes. We make bad decisions, sinning against God and others. We aren’t perfect. The apostle Paul tells us that no one is righteous (Romans 3:10). No one is perfect.
We don’t have to suffer eternally for our sins or mistakes. Jesus came to Earth, to pay the price for our sins. Have you turned your sins over to Jesus?
