More Words for Women

Proverbs 14:1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

Proverbs 19:13b … the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

Proverbs 21:19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Proverbs 25:24 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house.

Proverbs 27:15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.

Proverbs 17:14 The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention before it be meddled with.

Proverbs 17: 1 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than a house full of sacrifices with strife.

Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Proverbs 13:10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

Proverbs 16:24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Hello ladies! And gentlemen, these are not for you. You may read them, but you may not comment on them; they are for the ladies.

I have a beloved friend who says that PMS stands for PreMeditated Sin. I know of some women who go so far as to mark off days in big bold letters so that everyone will know when to tread on eggshells in their presence, or better yet, go elsewhere for the time being. I'll be honest. I used to have mood swings, also. Everyone else bore the "blame" for them, yet they were MY emotions out of kilter.

Ladies, we can pick our battles, or we can battle over everything. Do you sometimes feel as if you are always arguing with someone? Even if it's "their fault", you are arguing. Contentions come because we are too proud to back off, to give up our "right to be right".

I read something a couple of weeks ago that I loved …" Just because you are invited to an argument does mean you have to show up." I LOVE it! I control what comes out of my mouth, even if someone else is rude, unkind, argumentative, wrong, or just nasty to be around, I control my thoughts, feelings and emotions. They are MINE.

You can't "make me mad", I choose to become angry. I choose to battle, or I choose to ponder the situation. I choose to open my mouth in contention, or I choose soft words. I don't have to be right.

This world is going to pass away anyway, life's too short to argue. Proverbs is jam-packed full of wisdom. There are 31 Proverbs and 31 days in the month (most of them), ladies (okay, and gentlemen) you would do well to read one a day. Some are funny, some are serious, some are education in themselves, but all are for our learning and instruction that the man/woman of God may grow complete and mature in Him.

PMS = Prepared Minds Soar.

Father, You know us so well. You created us and know the end from the beginning, and sometimes it is extremely difficult to keep our mouths closed. Give us the courage to stay silent when someone seems to want to argue. James said that the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Boy! That's the truth. Give us strength that only comes from You. Thank You for mercy and wisdom and grace. Especially grace. Amen
