[CF Devotionals] 2010-05-15 - The Greatest Treasure of All©

During these perilous times around the world - war, collapsing economies, and things I have never seen in my lifetime – I would be remiss not to share with you the greatest treasure of all: Jesus. God knows and sees the sin, fear, brokenness and heartache all are facing and He, before breathing His breath into Adam’s nostrils, provided to us a Redeemer, His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus. He walked among man 2000 years ago. He loves us so much, that He gave His life, so that His precious blood could flow from Calvary to wash away our sin.

It is free! You only need ask. John 3:16 so simply tells, so that even a child can understand; that, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (KJV) It’s not about religion or a specific church, it’s about a relationship and fellowship with Jehovah, the Most Holy and Living God of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac. Beloved, if you have not met our Savior, you can meet Him now, and He will cleanse you and abide with you.

The hymn, The Love of God, expresses so beautifully the love our Father has for each one of us. I will leave you with this hymn, and pray that if you have not accepted so great this gift of redemption, will ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and come live in your heart and be Lord of your life. He proclaims to all who will hear in Revelation 3: 20, “ Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (KJV) Open the door today, while He tarries. Please know that I am praying for all with whom God has placed this small devotional. May God bless you, as only He can, as you surrender and walk in His way.

The Love of God

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;

The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin

Oh, love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure -
The saints’ and angels’ song.

When hoary time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call,

God’s love so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race -
The saints’ and angels’ song.

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;

To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.
