[CF Devotionals] 2015-11-23 - What Would Phillip Say?

- - - - - - -

John 4:7-30, 6:1-14

Jesus looked up and saw that a large crowd was coming toward Him, and He said to Philip, “Where will we buy bread for these people to eat?” But He said this to test Philip, because He knew what He was about to do. (John 6:5-6 AMP)

How do you like that? Jesus was testing me, to see my level of faith. Are there degrees of faith? Had I known the question was rigged, I may have altered my response.

Jesus wanted me and all His disciples to see with spiritual eyes. Jesus wanted us to believe beyond what we can actually see, and to put our faith in God's power. That is a tall order, but how nice would it be, to not doubt or wonder how things will get done. God is to be that source!

I viewed life a little differently, after my exchange with Jesus. It wasn't a visible change, more internal. I wanted to be transformed. I wanted enough faith to perform miracles like Jesus does. Jesus, let me be that example of how Your power can affect one's life!

Lord, Thank you for seeing the potential in me. It makes me happy. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
