2016-03-23 - Not Giving Up
I was dropping by the store to grab a few items, and a couple things from the pharmacy. Most times I stop by the grocery, I see Mary. She is a sixty-five year-old (just learned this today) lady who works for the Salvation Army. With a smile on her face and joy in her soul, she works gathering donations, to help follow through with their motto “doing the most good.” I believe Mary is doing the most good, by her example of being at her post every time she is able, sharing her smile and good conversation rain or shine, cold or warm, feeling great or not so well. Today, she told me that she fell and her leg was sore, but she wasn’t going to give up. She just keeps smiling, caring about people and being a light in a darkened world all year-round. I strive to be more like Mary every day, and am grateful for her Godly reminder of the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives, when we invite Him into them each day. Thank you, Mary, for doing the most good!
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
