Letters to a Young Church ~ The Practicing Believer ~ Conclusion
The reason we can love one another, the reason we can be patient with one another, the reason we are family - is because of the work of Christ in our lives.
“… Maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all” (Ephesians 4:3–6).
It is Christ's sacrifice that is the basis of our being here.
“…Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.” 1 Peter 1: 18 - 19
It is the death of Christ, the adequate sacrifice, the unblemished lamb, for our sins, to make us the sons of God, that should cause us to want to obey all that God calls us to.
Next week, we'll continue our study of Letter to the Young Church, when we begin 2 Thessalonians.
