[CF Devotionals] 2016-11-07 - Holy Evidence

- - - - - - -

We have a father who looks out for us. We find refuge in the Lord's presence. Our rest is found there. When we acknowledge the Lord's sovereignty, we receive His protection. God is near when trouble attacks. (Psalm 91) As our father, the Lord guards us well. God will come through for us. I have proof. There are many examples of people who needed a breakthrough and God responded. He made things better. Here's a sample of three Old Testament figures who God helped.

Noah and his family didn't stay on the ark forever. God made the wind and water subside. (Genesis 8:1)

Abraham's cousin Lot was in trouble and God got Lot out of the brazen city before it was destroyed. (Genesis 19:29)

Rachel desperately wanted to be a mother. God listened to her plea and she had twin boys. (Genesis 30:22)

When we ask God for something, we need to ask expecting the sought results. We shouldn't give up even if we don't receive an answer immediately. For God does not base His answers by a human time clock. “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (2 Peter 3:8 KJV)

Lord, Thank You for the Bible. It provides promises and truths to help quench our fears.
