2017-02-27 - Kick Impatience to the Curb
When I was single, my prayer time was more like a question and answer session, than a conversation with the Lord. I would ask:
Who will be my husband?
I was absorbed in being at the right place at the correct time, getting myself ready to be the ideal person. I was letting my marital status define who I was, instead of relying on God, my creator and navigator. I needed to ask the Lord to lead me on the straight path. (see Psalm 27) When we rely on the Lord, we don't need to worry or be afraid.
Lord, You are magnificent. You will undoubtedly keep me safe. I will not be swayed by what I see or don't see. I believe I'll see Your goodness. May I get to the point where I can honestly say that You protect my life, and as such, there is no room for fear. Amen.
