For the last several weeks, I have been inside an Intensive Care Unit every day, visiting my father who is having heart valve issues. As I watch these amazing, conscientious medical professionals working, I have observed that this is most definitely not a Monday through Friday, 9-5 business. This is a 24/7 place, where alert, skilled nurses and technicians are on the job around the clock. Whether it’s 3 p.m. or 3 a.m., whether it is a holiday, or a hazardous weather day - life goes on, and the intensive care never stops. Of course, this is also true in fields such as Richard's Air Traffic Control, as well as for First Responders.

That reminds me of God. He is loving us, listening to us and looking out for us, 365 days per year and 24 hours per day. No matter if everyone else around us is sleeping, God is not. We can pray to Him and count on Him - literally all the time.

Psalm 121:3-4
He will not allow your foot to slip;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.
