PC-USA 2018-05-22 - Within Our Home Range

- - - - - - -

Whenever we travel anywhere, it is always a good feeling, when we can once again hear WSB Radio. Then we know we are “in our home range.” No matter how fun or meaningful a trip has been, it is always good to be almost home again. With our Atlanta radio station, we can measure the distance; we know that when we are approximately 150 miles from home, we will be able to hear our station.

We Christians should have that “home range” mindset all the time, though we can’t measure our “distance” from Heaven, time-wise. We might live to be 91 like an active uncle of mine, or we could leave this Earth tomorrow.

But we should be ready at any time, and we should live every single day with Heaven in view, and in pursuit of Heavenly goals.

Philippians 3:17-21 (NASB)
Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us. For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

Colossians 3:1-3 (NASB)
Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
