2018-08-06 - What Would Sarah Say?
Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised. (Genesis 21:1 NIV)
God turned an impossibility into reality. I spent a large portion of my life with an unmet desire, a Biblical desire, at that (See Genesis 9:7.). Month after month, I'd be disappointed, until I finally accepted that I was not meant to be a mother.
Oh, I blamed myself - and at times held God responsible. I was so mixed up, with questions and fears. All I knew was it wasn’t God's time for Abraham and me to be parents.
Thankfully, I become a mother, although late in life. It was unbelievable! Without a doubt, God’s hand was upon us. The waiting and wondering were finally replaced with praise and awe.
Lord, I am having a hard time, waiting to know Your will. Help me stay patient for Your timing. I don't want to keep hoping in something that’s not Your plan for me. If I am focusing on myself too much, bring someone my way, someone who needs a friend. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
