The Blessings of Knowing Christ

I have come that they would have life,
and that they would have it more abundantly.
John 10:10

This is a classic hymn from more than 100 years ago. It is not something that more churches that favor more modern songs sing a lot. So many hymns have a message that is not easily understood or is something that is something that touches some. When the lyrics talk about "the blood" it makes some cringe. But it is a critical part of Jesus' mission to wash our sins away. His blood was poured out on the cross as an offering for our sins. On the third day after His brutal death He rose from the dead as He had promised His disciples.

Jesus became "the Lamb of God". God the Father offered His only son, Jesus, to die in our place and to make a way for those of us who would be willing to accept that offering. None of us is perfect. All of is have made mistakes and done something we know was not right. If we will ask to be forgiven, and really mean it, our failures (sins) will be forgiven. Jesus died on the cross and rose again to save us. He is willing to be our Savior.

Admit, recognize that you're not perfect Ask God for His forgiveness.
repent (Turn away from) your sins.
Believe that Jesus died and rose again from the grave.
Praying to Jesus invite Him, Jesus Christ, to come into your life and guide your life through the Holly Spirit. Jesus will become your Savior and Lord.

It may seen a little confusing. But it's not as complex as one might think. If you are interested in understanding more there are friends in your area, or churches were some of the staff there would be willing to answer your questions. If you can't find anyone near you there are some of us who would be willing to chat with your., There are organizations that have people who would do the same thing.

Lord Jesus - Thank You for Your love and the gift of music. It is easy to believe that you care for us and have our best interests .t heart. And still it is hard to allow you to do the things you promise You will do for us! There are times we need to surrender the things we struggle to hold to that we need to release. You have so many good things for us if we will slow down and ask you for a little help and direction. Thank You for Your patience. Amen.

Blessed Assurance

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
O what a foretaste of glory divine.
Heir of salvation, purchase of God.
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood

Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blessed
Watching and waiting, looking above
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love

This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long

Oh what a Savior, wonderful Jesus
Oh what a Savior, wonderful Jesus
Oh what a Savior, wonderful Jesus
Oh what a Savior, wonderful Jesus

Death could not hold…
